Brighton head coach Graham Potter believes Jurgen Locadia could offer something to them this season.

The 27-year-old has only made 43 appearances for Albion since joining the club in January 2018.

But in those 43 appearances he scored just six goals with three of those coming in the Premier League.

He last donned the blue and white stripes in August 2019 at the Amex, in Potter's third league game in charge of Albion, as he came on as a sub in their 2-0 defeat to Southampton at the Amex.

Since then he has spent the couple of years out on loan at Hoffenheim and FC Cincinnati, but neither loan worked out as he and the Seagulls would have hoped.

But he is now back with Albion and when Potter was asked about whether Locadia could have a role to play this season at the annual fans forum last night, he replied: "Jurgen is back from his loan and just basically being reintroduced into the group, into the squad and he has obviously got an opportunity to show what he can do.

"He has got talent, he has got ability, things have not worked out quite out how he'd like since he has been here.

"But he has just got to knuckle down and show what he can do there is a player there."
