Jurgen Locadia has been told Shane Duffy can be his inspiration as he strives to keep his Premier League career alive.

The former PSV striker is back in training with Albion after his loan stint at MLS outfit Cincinatti.

Having been seen as out of the picture, he could yet force his way into Graham Potter’s matchday thinking in attack over the coming weeks.

As it is, Aaron Connolly could be fit to feature at Brentford tomorrow after an injury scare while on international duty.

Neal Maupay is also raring to go against the club he left when he signed for the Seagulls in 2019.

Duffy has forced his way back into Potter’s first team after returning from a torrid loan stint at Celtic.

Locadia looked bright in Potter’s first pre-season, scoring in a win at Birmingham.

The Seagulls boss said: “He’s only 27. I spoke with him on Thursday and he’s approaching the peak of his career. That’s quite exciting.

“He can take inspiration from Shane, of course, because anything is possible.

“Clearly, he has got the talent and the ability.

“He’s had a tough time of it in terms of loan but he’s grown from the experience and used it well to develop as a person.
