Graham Potter is hoping for good news on Adam Webster.

The defender appeared to suffer a hamstring injury in the 1-0 win at Brentford.

Head coach Potter said: “I need to see but he said he felt something there but we will see how bad that is.”

Webster limped off slowly in the first half, holding the back of his left thigh, and received a consoling pat on the shoulder from opponent Ivan Toney as he departed.

The centre-back had grimaced as hooked the ball clear with his left foot.

He watched the later stages of the game from a seat behind the Albion technical area.

Joel Veltman initially slotted in as the right-sided centre-back in a three with sub Jakub Moder at wing-back.

Veltman later switched to right-back in a four as the old firm of Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk repelled things down the middle.

Enock Mwepu and Pascal Gross were ruled put by Covid-related issues.

Albion had planned carefully to have Mwepu back with them after playing for Zambia in Mauritania, which is not red-listed.

But Potter said: “Enock was pinged from a flight and Pascal is just self-isolating.”
