Yves Bissouma feels he has matured both on an off the pitch during his 100 appearances for Brighton so far.

The midfielder joined Albion from Lille back in 2018 as a promising young 21-year-old.

In just over three seasons he brought up his 100th appearance for Albion on Saturday in their 1-0 win over Brentford.

But Bissouma believes he has matured both on and off the pitch during his time on the South Coast.

He said: “I am very proud and happy. It’s been a long time of working hard. It’s down to everyone at the club.

“I want to say thanks to those people and to the club, it’s amazing to be a part of the best league in the world.

“When I came here I was 21 and now I am 25, so I have matured as a person and in my game. I learned a lot of things in those early years.”

During his time with the Seagulls Bissouma has sported a number of different hairstyles with his current being the deadlocks which is dyed to the same colour as their away kit.

But the midfielder admits his current hairstyle is his favourite look.

He said: “This is the best one, I like dreadlocks – it’s the same colour as the away kit, it was on purpose!”
