How Albion players rated in the win over Leicester.

ROBERT SANCHEZ 7/10

A tip over, a strong arm to divert a ball driven across goal and an alert sortie to meet Barnes early on – along with cool-headed work in general. This was a mature afternoon’s work.

JOEL VELTMAN 7/10

Such a handy man to have available. Started on the right of defence and spent time in a three as Albion held the fort. Nice work to set up a chance for March when things were a bit less manic early on.

SHANE DUFFY 7/10

Rose high for the header which forced the game-changing penalty. Was outfoxed on the City goal but got through some good old-fashioned dogged defending amid what were at times chaotic scenes

LEWIS DUNK 7/10

It was mainly about defending for the skipper and he was strong as Leicester pushed for an equaliser.

MARC CUCURELLA 8/10

Found an extra dimension to build on his promising but slightly reined-in debut at Brentford. Showed some flair going forward and was tenacious in defence.

SOLLY MARCH 7/10

A pleasing return to the XI as he played down the right and helped combat Barnes. Forced the free-kick for the winning goal and tested Schmeichel in the first half.

YVES BISSOUMA 7/10

Kept playing despite a knee problem and did his usual hard work around midfield before finally making way for the closing stages.

ADAM LALLANA 7/10

Good footwork to create a chance which he sent over but his best work came in helping Albion see out those tense final moments as he operated in midfield just ahead of the back three woth Bissouma having departed.

LEANDRO TROSSARD 8/10

Some moments of excitement as he dropped into dangerous pockets of space. One would have liked him to better protect the ball on a couple of occasions but he is always a potential threat. And the free-kick for the winning goal was pinpoint.

DANNY WELBECK 7/10

A classic downward glancing header to open his scoring for the season. Did some clever work in general play to stretch the Leicester defenders.

WAS THIS ROBERT SANCHEZ CATCH KEY TO TWO DISALLOWED GOALS?

NEAL MAUPAY 7/10

Only a penalty? Try telling that to the players who have faced Kasper Schmeichel before from 12 yards and failed to beat him – including Maupay himself. Crashed the ball home to cap an industrious afternoon.

SUBS - ENOCK MWEPU 6/10

Might have expected to have got on earlier than he did as Bissouma battled on. Was given a role down the right as he looked to help keep an eye on Barnes.

DAN BURN N/A

A battling introduction to life in a back three this season on his return from a knee injury. Did his job in the rearguard action.

JAKUB MODER N/A

Played a capable and sensible part in maintaining the lead.
