Marc Cucurella has been hailed as a “fantastic addition” after his eye-catching Albion home debut.

The former Getafe left-back, signed for £15.4 million last month, was a popular choice as sponsors’ man of the match in the 2-1 win over Leicester City.

It was his first full game in the Premier League – and his first 90 minutes since the Olympic final with Spain in Yokohama on August 7.

Cucurella is still adapting to life in England but has settled quickly on the pitch.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “I’m really impressed with his personality and character and how he has settled in.

“He is a top professional and has played a lot of games in La Liga. His attributes are there to see.

“He offers us something different down the left-hand side which means we can play Solly (March) on the right.

“He is a fantastic addition for us and adds to the side. It was a good home debut.”

Cucurella’s first game at the Amex followed his debut in the 1-0 win at Brentford.

Potter joked: “Two matches in the Premier League and two wins - maybe he’s our lucky charm!”

Albion are planning how to make best use of their squad when Swansea City visit in the Carabao Cup tomorrow.

Tariq Lamptey is expected to play some part, having been on the bench for the Leicester game.

Haydon Roberts, Taylor Richards, Steven Alzate and possibly Aaron Connolly would also appear candidates for action.
