Albion have no desperate need to use Tariq Lamptey at Selhurst Park.

But he could make his Premier League return off the bench.

Joel Veltman, who kept Jack Grealish very quiet at the Amex last season, could be a shrewd option to shackle Wilf Zaha.

Lamptey played the first half against Swansea City in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “We’re delighted with the 45 minutes, and because he’s been out for so long it’s important not to look too far ahead.

“We have a plan, of course, about how to deal with him but it’s about staying as focused as we can, being as present as we can with him, not getting carried away with anything and just seeing can we get him on the pitch for Brighton?

HOW GRAHAM POTTER WILL APPROACH THOSE FINAL MINUTES BEFORE KICK-OFF AT SELHURST PARK

“We’re not desperate for him to play 90 minutes.

“Can he contribute for 60? Can he contribute for 30? We’re at that stage at the moment.

“It’s not like we’re against the clock or anything, it’s about doing the right thing for him.

“And I think if he’s enjoying his football and he’s on the pitch and he’s happy, the sky’s the limit for him.
