Adam Lallana has praised “a hell of a finish” by Neal Maupay at Selhurst Park.

The Albion midfielder believes the French striker’s lobbed leveller matched Christian Benteke’s late winner for Crystal Palace at the Amex last season in terms of drama.

But he says it is no accident Albion are picking up points the hard way away from home.

Maupay beat Vicente Guaita right at the end of added time to force a 1-1 draw.

Lallana said: “It was a hell of a finish.

“Almost the last kick of the game, to have the nerve to lob the keeper like that. I’m absolutely delighted for him.

“He is working hard day in, day out and he is improving week in, week out. His goal return is only going to get better.”

Albion looked to be heading for a first away defeat of the season.

Lallana said: “It feels like a win, I must admit.

“We took a sucker punch against them at our place with the last kick last season when Christian scored a wonderful goal.

“I can’t help but think our resilience and our attitude this year, in training and day to day how we are going about our business means you get breaks like that.

“It’s character-building and a reward for sticking together and never say never really.”

Albion came from behind to win at Burnley, then grabbed the points late at Brentford.

Lallana said: “It builds something when you get those late equalisers or late winners.

“It’s not luck at all. We will take it.

“We know there are going to be some tough moments throughout the season.

“We are not getting carried away.

“We know we could have been better and we will look at those areas.

“We will keep working hard for each other, it’s as simple as that.
