Albion under-21s picked up a first Papa John’s Trophy point of the season, despite being reduced to ten men.
Todd Miller and Lorent Tolaj were on target in a commendable 2-2 draw at Forest Green.
The League Two leaders then secured the extra point by winning a shoot out.
Albion defender Antef Tsoungui was sent off early in the second half for a foul as last man with the score 1-1.
As well as poking home Albion’s first leveller from six yards, Miller was also heavily involved in Tolaj’s strike on 63 minutes by winning the ball back and teeing up the striker at the end of a stunning counter attack.
Forest Green went first in the shoot out and all penalties were scored bar Albion’s first, when Marc Leonard saw his shot saved.
Jack Spong, Tolaj and Cam Peupion then converted.
