Horsham boss Dom Di Paola reckons the club needed an FA Cup run.

He would love to take it into the first round proper by stunning National League outfit Woking at the Camping World Community Stadium.

Horsham officials reckon tomorrow’s fourth qualifying round tie is the biggest game in the town for 14 years.

That takes it back to the last hurrah for their old ground Queen Street, which staged a second-round tie against Swansea City in its final season before demolition.

Horsham sent 11 years groundsharing with other clubs but moved into their new home two years ago.

Di Paola is delighted to see it stage a big occasion before a likely four-figure gate.

He said: “Woking are having probably their best season in quite a while.

“It could not be a tougher tie when you look at the seedings and the teams in the south half of the draw.

“But it’s a good test, a good challenge.

“We have plenty of boys who have played in matches like this before.

“The club have not had something like this in the last ten years.

“The cup run has killed us a bit in the league but it is something the club has needed.

“It is probably the one thing that has been missing since we came to the club.

“You sometimes see teams who are a league above you but are having a bad time.

“You know that their spirit won’t be great and you can get amongst them.

“We know Woking are a good side and we know quite a lot about them.

“They have a good manager and in the last three or four years have been decent in the FA Cup.

“You can see they take the competition seriously.

“They won’t be throwing a lot of kids in!”
