This is how Albion's players arguably rated as individuals at Norwich.

Collectively, they defended their box well when pushed back - Norwich's threats were when play was stretched - but lacked variation of pace in midfield.

Robert Sanchez 7/10

Or ideally a 6.5! Imperious in the air, taking total command when high balls came in, and remained calm and measured with ball at feet despite an awful first-half moment. But, but, but - what a mishap that was and it might easily have cost Albion the game.

The Argus:

Shane Duffy 6/10

Chased what looked a lost cause and was rewarded when Sargent under-hit his shot towards an open goal (above). Got in some timely headers and blocks but was also caused problems by Norwich movement.

Lewis Dunk 6/10

Recovered well when it seemed Sargent was in on goal very early. There were a few moments like that as Albion were stretched but had answers.

Dan Burn 8/10

Being 6ft 7in can be an asset on the ground just as much as in the air. Ate up the ground and stretched to make key tackles en route to another clean sheet. But, with not too much help ahead of him, was exposed at times, notably when Pukki should have scored.

Joel Veltman 6/10

Was on a yellow card from very early on but played his usual solid part in the defensive effort. Unsurprisingly, more gaps opened after his exit.

The Argus:

Adam Lallana 6/10

Is now the somewhat understated fulcrum of midfield but, amid the prompting and organising, almost had a headline moment early when his shot rested Krul (above). Passing was less consistent in its quality in the second half.

Pascal Gross 6/10

A subdued day for the midfielder, who was neat and tidy but struggled to offer the precision and ideas needed to break the home side down.

Jakub Moder 6/10

A quiet game. Another who did okay in midfield without really seizing what was quite a big chance to impress.

Marc Cucurella 6/10

Had scope to get well forward and buzzed about the park - not always out wide, where he mght have done more damage - without any great end product.

Leandro Trossard 7/10

Had plenty of green and yellow company but his tight control and movement made him the most likely to create imbalances in the home defence. Showed admirable technique and confidence when he volleyed against the bar.

Neal Maupay 6/10

Was he clipped by Krul? That was a rare sniff of goal for the striker and his other saw him poke an instinctive shot too high when he had a great chance late on. Not as involved as he can be in build-up play.

SUBS - Tariq Lamptey 6/10

Sent on in the quest for attacking width and got well forward, offering potential rather than actual threat. The half-hour will have done him a lot of good.

Solly March 7/10

Gave Albion the menace they had lacked down the left, creating one half-chance (his cutback could have been better) and one very good opening.

Alexis Mac Allister N/A

Tried to add some late spark.
