ALBION boss Graham Potter believes that "anything is possible" for his team after their brilliant start to the Premier League campaign.

The Seagulls have won four of their opening eight games of the season and are currently perched in the top four of the table, only bettered by Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Potter's side faces Pep Guardiola and his Citizen's team on Saturday in the 5.30pm kick-off, and a win for Albion will see them jump into third place.

In Albion's favour, they did beat the current Premier League champions in the same fixture last season, in a memorable 3-2 win at the Amex Stadium.

Although Albion are currently only three points above Wolves, who are in tenth place, this shows that this season could be a tight one with teams battling for their places in the table.

Speaking to the media ahead of Albion's match against Manchester City, Graham Potter said: "Anything is possible, but if you had said at the start of the season you would have 15 points from eight matches, you would have been happy with that, and we are happy with it.

"But it is only a start. We have only had eight matches, and it is not a big sample, we are only talking about the same points ratio and position in the table in 30 matches time then I am going to be really excited than I am now.

"It is just a start, but a good start for us."

After the Manchester City game, Albion's run of fixtures does not get much easier as they have a League cup trip to Leicester City next Wednesday followed by a league tie against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Potter said: "We are heading into a really big week for us, with some great challenges ahead, but we face them from a decent foundation. The points per game are two per game, which to continue is ambitious, and is why we are happy with the start we have.

"It is not for us to worry about, to be fair, that is something that will take energy away, and we just have to focus on the game, and the next match is one of the toughest in football.

"At the same time, it is a really exciting challenge, so we will focus on the next game and do our best and see where we go.

Following the good start to the season, Albion will have reassessed their targets for the current campaign.

The club will surely be hoping to keep pace with the teams around them and at least clinch a top ten spot at the end of the season.

Potter said: "The aim of the club is to try a be a top ten club, that has been articulated clearly and often, that is not to say we are there now at all as we have to keep fighting and improving.

"We have a long way to go to get there, and you just have to look at the history of the club to know where we have come from and where we are now and our current place.

"Expectations or goals about where we are at the end of the season, are not for us to worry about now as we have got points to play for and points to fight for."
