Graham Potter is weighing up his attacking options after praising Leandro Trossard in a new role.

Albion are preparing to host Newcastle after their memorable 2-2 draw at Liverpool on Saturday.

Neal Maupay, who scored three goals in two games versus Toon last season, was an unused sub at Anfield but could return.

Potter appeared to suggest the attacking set-up at Anfield was tailor-made to trouble a Liverpool team built on Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate at the back.

Albion’s head coach told The Argus: “The strength of their centre-backs is clear.

“We wanted to try and use Leandro’s movement and fluidity with Solly (March) and Adam (Lallana). I thought they did it really well.

“It was a great pass (by Trosssard) to put Solly away early on and I think he was a centimetre away from a third goal for us.

“I’m delighted for him to get the goal. It was really good composure.

“A really nice goal from our perspective. Really happy with him.”

WHY THIS ANFIELD POINT MIGHT MEAN MORE
