THE Premier League have announced the referee who will take charge of Albion's match against Newcastle United.
David Coote will be the man in the middle for the fixture at the Amex Stadium. He last took charge of an Albion game in the opening game of the season.
That game ended as a 2-1 victory for the Seagulls as they beat Burnley at Turf Moor to start their season off in the best possible way.
Overall, the Nottinghamshire born referee has overseen nine Albion games in all competitions in his career.
For the most part, the official has been a good omen for the Seagulls, who have won five of the matches, losing the other four.
Coote has only ever sent off one Albion player in the nine matches, dismissing Aaron Mooy for a second bookable offence in the first half against Aston Villa in 2019.
For the Magpies, Coote has officiated 13 games, and they have only won five of them, drawing once and losing the other seven.
Although, Coote has never sent a Newcastle player for an early bath in any of the games he has refereed.
He will be supported by his assistants Nick Hopton and James Mainwaring, and the fourth official will be Kieth Stroud.
VAR will be looked after by Craig Pawson and his assistant, Sian Massey-Ellis.
