ALBION defender Emma Koivisto is hoping that her team can bounce back from their FA Cup exit.

The Seagulls were knocked out in the semi-finals of the Vitality FA Cup on Sunday, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Koivisto is confident Albion can continue their good form in the Women's Super League this weekend when they take on eighth-placed Everton, who have lost their last two league matches.

The 27-year-old said: "The first half was okay, we went in at 0-0 at the break, and there's a lot of positives to take from the game. We have moved on though.

"We have started the season really well overall, we only had the one game against Aston Villa where we maybe weren't at our best.

"But we can't get ahead of ourselves, we are only six games into the season, so we can't look too much at the table at the moment.

"We have performed well in games, the results have mostly been the ones we have aimed for."

The right-back believes that there is still plenty of room for improvement for her team.

She said: "On the ball we can be more patient, making sure that we link up as best as we can. Defensively we're in a good place though, we are compact when we need to be, but also have that flexibility for the full-backs to push forward to when possible."

Albion were victorious in their previous Women's Super League match, when they managed a 2-1 victory over Tottenham.

"The attitude and mentality has changed and developed during my time here. We've taken another step in the right direction, and that's important if we want to do well this season.

"I know the club has previously had a slow start in the league and then kicked on after Christmas, so it's good to have this early momentum."

Albion go into Saturday's 5.30pm kick-off knowing that they could go second in the WSL table if they are able to beat the Toffees.
