Albion loanee Kaoru Mioma has received his first call-up to the senior Japan squad.
The selection rewards his fine recent form with Union St-Gilloise.
A first cap against Vietnam or Oman is likely to help in the process of securing him a work permit to play in the UK.
Albion head coach Graham Potter recently told The Argus there would be a decision to make about Mitoma in January, red tape permitting.
