JAYSON Molumby is loving life at West Bromwich Albion and he could even be there for the long term.

The Irish midfielder is currently on loan from the Seagulls and after a slow start to life in the Championship is starting to show his best for the Baggies.

Luke Hatfield, sports correspondent for the Express and Star told the Argus: "It took Jayson a while to get settled, up to fitness and playing under Valerien Ismael, but you get the sense that we're starting to see the best of him now.

"He's taken to Albion's midfield well as part of a 3-4-3 system which requires an awful lot of running, and that's clearly something he's all about.

"He's offered energy and drive in the middle of the park, and that's just what Albion wanted from him, he could maybe add some guile and a goal threat though."

The 22-year-old midfielder is still in the early stages of his career and has plenty of room for improvement.

It has been suggested that Molumby needs to add goals to his game to cement himself in the starting 11 of the team.

Luke said: "As mentioned before, he's offering a great engine and willing running in midfield, but he doesn't offer much in terms of a goal threat from deep.

"It's not a requirement in Ismael's system, but it would help if he made himself available with some late runs into the box, or offered a threat from distance.

"We've not seen that from him really yet."

Despite there still being room for improvement, Molumby is currently making name for himself at the Hawthorns. So much so the midfielder could make a permanent home for himself in the Midlands.

When asked if Molumby could be signed permanently by the club, Luke said: "There's certainly a good chance of that happening. He's become an important part of this Albion squad, and is probably third choice now behind Jake Livermore and Alex Mowatt.

"He's offered enough so far to suggest he's worth holding onto at Albion, although if they get themselves promoted I'm not quite sure if he'd be quite good enough in the top flight for them."
