How Albion players rated as individuals in what for the most part was an impressive team effort.

ROBERT SANCHEZ 8/10

Was on course for an N/A after an hour. Then made four saves of increasing difficulty, the last of them showing mental and physical agility to keep a spinning effort out of the bottom corner.

JOEL VELTMAN 7/10

Returned as a genuine right-back as Lamptey raided head of him. Solid and unspectacular but he is one who can help others look good.

ADAM WEBSTER 7/10

His ability to bring the ball forward and pick passes was a key factor in the danger Albion caused. Had one second-half scare, although he got across quickly to challenge the resulting shot.

LEWIS DUNK 7/10

A pretty comfortable evening at the back for the skipper.

MARC CUCURELLA 8/10

Did not cause quite the havoc of Lamptey but offered a threat and an outlet. His style means it is tempting to judge him mainly on his work in attack. But what did the highly-rated wideman up against him produce?

The Argus:

TARIQ LAMPTEY 8/10

Exhilarating to watch in the first hour. Gave Firpo a torrid time and got his head up when he delivered from wide. While not so rampant in the second half, he still had his moments.

YVES BISSOUMA 6/10

A more under-stated display from him this time as Albion did not have to recover the ball in dangerous areas too often.

PASCAL GROSS 6/10

Another whose role seemed to be to get others playing while he kept things ticking over. Tidy on the ball and made a great run to set up Moder’s second good chance.

JAKUB MODER 7/10

Drifts into useful areas and does a good job making room for others. Now needs to start taking his own big chances when they come.

LEANDRO TROSSSARD 7/10

A livewire who is clearly full of confidence. Saw his cleanly-hit shot hit the post via a feint Meslier touch but was less of a factor in the second half.

NEAL MAUPAY 6/10

Recalled to the XI and you certainly could not fault his effort or his ability to get into great positions. But a centre-forward has to be hitting the target when unchallenged six yards out - which is why many will see this mark as a bit generous.

SUBS – JURGEN LOCADIA 5/10

A surprising option as first change. Did not get anywhere near the pace of the game and miscued a left-footed effort.

The Argus:

SOLLY MARCH N/A

Was pleasingly purposeful down the right and twice went for goal cutting in on his left foot.

JEREMY SARMIENTO N/A

Good willingness to run at defenders.
