Graham Potter says he loves what Neal Maupay does for his Albion team.
The striker came under the spotlight for two misses in the first half against Leeds.
Potter was asked by The Argus for a balanced appraisal of Maupay’s efforts on his return to the side – not just the chances.
Albion’s head coach replied: “I think we like to zoom into individuals and we like to blame people. That is how our society is.
“We need to remember it’s a team game.
“When the team performs well, Neal is part of that team.
“As a striker, one day you are a hero, so when he scores in the last minute against Crystal Palace he is the hero.
“Now today he is probably the opposite of the hero.
“That’s life. From our perspective nothing changes.
“We believe in him, we support him.
“I love how he works for the team, I love how he gives for the team.
“He has taken some big steps this season off the pitch.

“It’s life, it happens. I think they are fantastic.
“Like today and their response. I couldn’t be any happier.”
