ALBION'S trip to face Manchester United on Saturday has started to come into doubt after players for the Red Devils tested positive for Covid-19, according to reports.

Graham Potter's side have already their match against Tottenham Hotspur postponed after positive results in the North London club's ranks.

The game against Spurs was supposed to take place yesterday but now needs to be rescheduled.

There could be worries building that the match against Manchester United could follow the same fate after they suffered an outbreak of Covid-19 after their 1-0 win against Norwich.

Club sources have confirmed that a small number of players and staff have tested positive and were sent home before training on Saturday.

Manchester United have notified the Premier League of the positive cases.

The group that travelled to Carrow Road on the weekend had tested negative, but a small number of players and staff returned positive lateral flow tests.

United won the game against the Canaries 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The match against Brentford tomorrow night is still set to take place.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank is planning for the Premier League game against Manchester United to go ahead but wants more clarity over rules regarding Covid-19 postponements.

“We are planning to play the game,” Frank said. “That’s what we are focusing on. We can’t control anything else.

“I think it needs to be a significant amount of Covid cases before the game can be cancelled but to be fair I’m a little bit in doubt when it is enough.

“It’s a very tricky situation.

“I think it’s very important the Premier League and all of us are following normal society rules and restrictions. That’s very important.

“And then if we can make it very clear what the rules are to cancel a game that would be good.”

Albion will turn their attention to the match after Wednesday's evening fixture against Wolves.
