STEVEN Gerrard's Aston Villa have reportedly turned their attentions to Albion star Yves Bissouma after they secured the services of Phillipe Coutinho.

The Villans signed the Barcelona star on loan until the end of the season and are looking to continue strengthening their side ahead of the remainder of the campaign.

Gerrard is now reportedly looking at Albion's Yves Bissouma, who is currently away with Mali for the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Sky Sports, the Villans would be interested in bringing the 25-year-old to Villa Park as he is in the last 18 months of his contract with Albion.

Due to his contract running down, the West Midlands side probably thinks there is a chance they could sign Bissouma for a reduced fee, which would not be the case.

The midfielder has been in good form this season and has attracted interest in the past from top sides in the Premier League.

In the past Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with making a move for the Mali international.

In his news conference on Thursday, Albion manager Graham Potter said he expects all his players to stay at the club in this window.

So a sale of his star man would be highly unlikely, especially midway through the season.
