A TICKET for David Beckham's senior debut at Brighton has sold for more than £11,000 - and we want to see if Albion fans still have theirs.

Most people with tickets from the football keep them as a memento on their wall or stash them away somewhere.

But if you are old enough to remember Brighton’s league cup match against Manchester United in September 1992, you may want to scrabble through that dusty drawer.

That day on September 23, Beckham replaced Andrei Kanchelskis in front of almost 17,000 fans at the Goldstone ground in Hove.

The 17-year-old, who went on to become a Balon d’Or runner up, was greeted by chants from Albion fans of “who the f****** hell are you?” when he took to the pitch.

The match finished 1-1, with Danny Wallace taking the lead for United before Matt Edwards headed in an equaliser at the far post for the Seagulls.

Albion would go on to lose the second leg 1-0 after a Mark Hughes goal.

However, that first leg match is better known for the future England star’s debut and we want to find out if anyone still has a ticket from that Wednesday night 30 years ago.

On Monday, a ticket for the match racked up almost 60 bids with the winning bid coming in at £11,066 on auction website Goldin.

The ticket was graded PR 1 which means it is in poor condition - but it still sold for a fair whack.

  • Did you go to the game?
  • Do you remember seeing Golden Balls himself?
  • Do you still have the ticket or is it long gone?

We would love you to get in touch with us with your memories of that day.

And you could even earn yourself a bit of money with that ticket that you bought for £5.50 all those years ago!

In case you need a reminder of Beckham’s career, he would go on to make 265 appearances for United over a nine year period, before a big money move to Real Madrid in 2003.

Beckham also enjoyed a spell in Los Angeles for LA Galaxy, as well as a loan spell at AC Milan in 2009/10, before capping off his glittering career for Paris Saint Germain in 2013, having made over 500 career appearances in total.

He also made 115 appearances for England, while outside of football, he's known for his relationship with Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice.
