Albion’s latest signings are settling in well behind the scenes.

But boss Hope Powell has revealed an ongoing injury concern over centre-back Danique Kerkdijk.

Emma Kullberg and Julia Zigiotti have arrived in the New Year, with the former getting a debut off the bench in the defeat by Manchester City.

They could feature at Leicester today (2pm).

Powell told The Argus: “They are settling in very well. They are really nice girls.

“Obviously, with the league, it takes a little time to adjust.

“The Swedish league is very different and I think they are starting to really enjoy themselves in training.

“We are seeing more and more of their quality shine through.

“They are working very hard and it’s an absolute pleasure to have them.

“It gives us more depth in the squad and, during the course of the season, we will probably end up utilising every player, those two included.”

Kerkdijk had to leave the City game at half-time with the score still 0-0.

Things went downhill quickly from there as Albion went down 6-0.

Powell said she was a big loss.

The Albion boss added: “She has had an ongoing injury that causes her real problems.

“She has done really well to this point to keep going.

“She has been playing in quite a bit of pain.”
