Albion fans have been told their club are still on the way up – as they aim for another landmark moment.

Graham Potter highlighted the collaborative nature of the Seagulls’ progress into the Premier League’s top half, led by chairman Tony Bloom.

Potter’s message came ahead of another big night at the Amex as Albion aim to secure the club’s first ever win over Chelsea.

He delivered it amid renewed speculation that he might of interest to managerless Everton.

Potter said: “We are fortunate to have a fantastic chairman, who provides the clarity, vision and support for us all and allows us to get on with our work.

“There has been time from the outside where the media are saying we haven’t won for this amount of time, club record without a win, etc.

“But there has never been any pressure, never been any feeling of anything other than support, help and encouragement.

“That gives you a chance to do your job and keep improving.

“We are ambitious. We want to keep getting better.

“But I am no magician. I need the help of the people around me.”

Potter shrugged off injury concerns ahead of the Chelsea game.

He said: “It’s a part of the challenge, in particular this year with Covid in the background, which isn’t so easy to report on because of player privacy, but the group is in a good place.

“We put in a good performance against Crystal Palace and have had some good results recently.”
