Solly March has been told to be ready for his chance.

And it might not come down the left-hand side.

March has had limited opportunities this season but could be handed a role at home to Chelsea tonight.

He played the full game as Albion drew at Stamford Bridge three weeks ago.

Graham Potter was asked a question specifically about March’s season to date in the run-up to tonight’s game.

The Albion head coach replied: “He has been a little unlucky. He has played well when he has come in.

“It has not been a case of him not being good enough or doing well enough.

“He did well against Chelsea, then there was a quick turnaround for Everton so we went with something different in terms of the squad.

“Whenever he has come from the bench he has had an impact.

IS ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER THE RIGHT MAN FOR BRIGHTON MIDFIELD BATTLE?

“Sometimes the reality is that if you are ninth in the Premier League, you have players that are good, that have earned the right to play and should play but they are not.

“It is similar to Alexis a few weeks ago, the key thing is to keep working and keep being ready and when the chance comes you can take it. Solly is very important for us.

“He is not just competing with Marc (Cucurella).

“He can play in the same team. Against Chelsea he can play on the other side on the right which is what he did against Palace. He has lots of options.”
