NEWCASTLE have agreed a deal to sign Albion star Dan Burn before the transfer window shuts.

The Magpies had two bids for the towering defender turned down by Albion with the second bid being in the region of £10 million.

However the clubs have now agreed on a £13 million fee for Burn which will see Albion make a tidy profit on the player they signed from Wigan in 2018.

The 29-year-old was born in Blythe in Northumberland and was a Newcastle fan when growing up.

Newcastle also want to add a left-back before the close of the window.

Eddie Howe’s newly Saudi owned club are desperate to avoid relegation and push up the Premier League table.

The Toon have only won twice this season in the league and are currently 18th, one point behind Norwich City.

Burn joined Albion in a £4 million transfer and has made 72 league appearances for the club scoring two goals.

Burn’s starring moment was scoring a crucial goal in Albion’s 3-2 win over Manchester City at the Amex Stadium last season.

This season Burn had become an important player in Graham Potter’s team this season as he has provided quality cover for Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster during their injuries.
