NEWCASTLE star Allan Saint-Maximin has confirmed that he is 'back' after he received treatment in Monaco for a calf injury.

The mercurial winger picked up the injury during the club's victory against Aston Villa last month and subsequently missed the games at West Ham and Brentford.

Saint-Maximin was given club permission to travel to the Principality for treatment as the forward already has a relationship with physio Alexandre Baccili.

The 24-year-old has since taken to Instagram to confirm 'I'm back' ahead of Albion's trip to St James' Park to face the Magpies.

Saint-Maximin on his day is one of the most dangerous attackers in the league as he has a very good dribbling ability so Graham Potter's defenders will have to be on top form in the match.

Although, there is a chance he will not be fit enough to start the game as the Magpies' doctors make their own assessments throughout the week.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe told reporters after the 2-0 win against Brentford last week: "We’re now keeping our fingers crossed and hoping we can get him ready for next week.

"I think he’ll be a lot closer for that game.

“He’s a massive player for us and we’re very aware that we need him back, but it’s very good to see the team able to cope.

"If you see the players that are missing, there are some really outstanding individuals, but the team's being strong enough at the moment.”
