Adam Webster will not feature in Albion’s match against Newcastle United this weekend.

The centre back was not involved during Brighton’s home defeats to Burnley and Aston Villa.

Head coach Graham Potter confirmed today that he will not feature for Albion’s 350-mile trip North.

Potter suggested that Adam Lallana would most likely be on the bench, while Enock Mwepu would not be featuring after recently returning from illness.

He said: “Adam Lallana has made good progress, we think he will train tomorrow hopefully so that’s good for us. Whether he is able to start the game is another thing but it’s good he is available.

“Adam Webster will still be missing, he had a little setback with his injury.

“He is an outside chance for Tottenham but if not then after the international break."

Albion host Spurs on Wednesday, March 16, before the international break.

Webster will most likely be back for Brighton's match at home to Norwich on Saturday, April 2.

Enock Mwepu has struggled with injuries and illness since his last game in the FA Cup vs West Brom on January 8.

Potter said: “Enock Mwepu has come back from his illness. He had his first training session today. The weekend might be a bit soon for him, but it is good that he’s back.”
