New year, new me, new records. As 2022 begins, many people will be setting their new year's resolutions, from getting out of their comfort zone to starting a new hobby. And, of course, we can't forget the most popular resolution of all: to exercise more come the new year. And what better way to kick off a new lifestyle than the New Year's Day park run of 2022.

This year, to start 2022 on a good note, many people gathered at Shinewater Park in Eastbourne to take place in the weekly 5K Park run. This year, even more people came out to start their fitness journey. But, whilst for a lot of people, this may be their first time doing a park run, there are some for whom this is an annual event. One such person is Harriet Bloor, who set out this year to break the course record. She's been attempting to break the record for a while now, yet, due to the series of lockdowns put in place for the last two years, has not been able to take part until this year, where she finally succeeded. Bloor now holds the course record, with the fantastic time of 16:51. According to Bloor, she "recently ran a new personal best of 16:38 minutes over a 5k" so knew she was ready to set a new record at Eastbourne Park Run.

This new Park Run record is, no doubt, only the start of a fantastic year of running from Harriet Bloor and she is sure to break even more records.
