Marc Cucurella is “desperate” to have a big Premier League impact – as he heads for what could be a glittering end to the season.

The former Barcelona defender is widely fancied to be crowned Albion’s player of the season at the end of his first campaign in this country.

He starred again in the 3-0 win at Wolves, on the left of a back three and then at wing-back.

Cucurella has been a massive hit during what has been an ever-present campaign since his arrival from Getafe three matches into the season.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “He has been really important for us since he has come.

“He is a really infectious personality so the lads all love him.

“He’s a great character and a bubbly personality around the club.

“On the pitch he brings energy and quality.

“He has grown up at Barcelona so he knows how to play football.

“Now he is desperate to have an impact in the Premier League and we have been so happy with him.”

Cucurella is one of several Albion players who have returned to top form in recent weeks.

Potter said: “The more players you have that are playing well, the more it helps the team.”
