Albion want to see what their on-loan stars can do in pre-season.

They include Blackburn prize-winners Jan Paul van Hecke and Reda Khadra, who narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs.

Neither played in the end-of-term dead rubber which saw Rovers win 2-1 at Birmingham on Saturday.

Van Hecke was player of the year at Ewood Park while Khadra’s stunning free-kick to beat QPR was voted goal of the season.

Albion head coach Graham Potter said: “There are a few lads who we’ve got to sit down with and figure out what the next step is and what the right plan for them is, to assess that.

“There’s potentially a few guys that could come back and be around in pre-season. We will see from there.”

Khadra returned early from Lancashire due to a minor injury.

Potter said: “I spoke with him and he’s really positive.

“He has had a really good experience to be involved that much under the guidance of Tony Mowbray.

“It has been really beneficial for him.

“He’s unfortunate that his season has been cut short because of injury but, overall, it has been a really positive experience.”

Khadra scored four league goals from 18 starts plus nine games off the bench for a Rovers side who threatened to force their way into the promotion picture at one stage.
