Albion will give Tariq Lamptey all the support he needs as he makes a big decision over his international future.

But they said his call as to whether he commits to Ghana or England must come down to how he and his family feel.

The right-back has played for England under-21s but remains eligible for both nations and could play for Ghana at the World Cup.

Albion boss Graham Potter said: “I would like to think it is probably more about how he feels in terms of who he wants to represent.

“There will be a family consideration there.

“I don’t think you take that decision necessarily from a career perspective.

“I think it’s more what feels right for him as a human being and as a footballer.

“That’s complex and whatever decision he makes, I’ll support it.

“We are definitely here for him if wants to speak or ask any questions.

“It would be wrong of us to steer him either way.”
