Solly March says he has relished a run in Albion's attack-minded end to the season.

The wideman from Hailsham impressed in the run-in as he helped the Seagulls finish ninth in the Premier League.

He featured in each of the last seven games, starting five of them, and looked more confident than ever.

March told The Argus: “I had a run of games and I think that’s the key.

“Once you get a run of games it’s a lot easier to get into your rhythm and build your confidence.

“I think before that it was a bit stop-start.

“A start here, a start there so it was hard to get into the games.

“It has been a good end to the season and hopefully I can build on that and come out flying next year.”

Albion spoke about being more forward-thinking when they regrouped during the last international break after a run of six defeats.

March said: “We discussed a lot of things within the team and one of them was to try and be more positive and play forward passes and get on the front foot.

“I think it has definitely changed a lot there.

“When we win the ball back, if that first pass goes forward, I think it picks the team up, it picks the fans up and everyone gets behind you.”

March described ninth place as “a big achievement” and is eyeing further progress next term.

He said: “We have got to try and improve on it next year.

“If we stick with the main group of players we have got and add a few, we will be in good stead to do that.

“We have got to come in and be positive and confident we can do that.”
