Steven Alzate enjoyed welcome playing time – and impressed in front of his new national team boss.

The Albion midfielder played the first 66 minutes as Colombia beat Saudi Arabia 1-0 in a friendly in Murcia.

It was their first match under new boss Nestor Lorenzo, the former Argentina defender.

Alzate hit the bar with a shot and generally impressed on the ball.

He was taken off when he stayed down following a tackle but could be seen walking with no problems to the changing room after the game while chatting to a team-mate.

Alzate only played 407 minutes in the league last season and will be keen to have more impact in 2022-23.
