Albion have added attacking midfielder Veatriki Sarri to their squad for the new WSL season.
The 24-year-old was previously with Birmingham City and joins on a two-year deal.
Albion boss hope Powell said Sarri stood out in three matches between the clubs last season.
Powell added: “Vea adds good quality to our forward options.
“She’s got a wealth of domestic experience and has played for her country. She’s looking forward to this challenge and we’re pleased to have her with us.”
Sarri said: “Brighton is a club with great ambitions, I am really excited to be a part of the club.
“From the first time I spoke with Hope, I got a good understanding of where the club wants to go.
“Having played against Brighton, you know they’re a very organised team. It’s an honour to be here.”
