Albion are hoping to build on Euro 2022 fervour – after a famous night at the Amex.

A sell-out crowd of almost 30,000 saw England beat Spain 2-1 after extra-time in the stunning surroundings of the Seagulls’ 11-year-old stadium.

The action was watched by nine million TV viewers in this country and more than six million in Spain.

Three Euro games in Brighton have been widely considered a big success, culminating in Wednesday’s quarter-final.

Now Albion hope to see plenty of fans at top-flight WSL action in the new campaign, beginning in September.

They have so far recorded a 15% increase on season ticket sales compared to the final figure last year.

Meanwhile Albion In The Community report a 55% increase in the number of girls applying for their summer coaching sessions.

The hope is both numbers will keep climbing as England prepare for Tuesday’s semi-final.

Goals from Ella Toone and Georgia Stanway defeated talented Spain and Sarina Wiegman said the crowd was a factor.

The England boss said: “The fans behind us, you could feel it. This is home advantage.”
