Albion will be getting a player of "astounding" maturity when they bring in Levi Colwill.

The Chelsea defender is signing on loan for the new season.

He shone last term at Huddersfield as they reached the play-off final.

David Hartrick, Opta's in-ground analyst for Huddersfield, watched Colwill closely throughout last season.

He sees him ideally taking the left-sided role in a three which Marc Cucurella filled in pre-season.

Hartrick, who is also an Albion fan, told The Argus: “He’s a great player, played left of a three last season and occasionally covered at left-back too.

“The maturity at his age is astounding. Comfortable on the ball and stepping out of defence, his positioning is decent but obviously due to his age and experience perhaps the one area he needs to work on but his recovery pace is so good he rarely gets into any trouble he can’t get himself out of.”

Hartrick, who appears on podcast Ooh To Be A Terrier, rates Colwill a fine all-round prospect.

He added: “We spent last season saying on our podcast that he was a future England captain - definitely got caps in his future - and he’s a lovely lad too.

“As a bonus he’s also a threat on set-pieces.”
