Graham Potter has revealed two more reasons for pride in his team’s opening day win.

Albion will look to build on success at Old Trafford as they host Newcastle tomorrow.

The head coach was reluctant to criticise refereeing decisions after the 2-1 success at Manchester United.

But he opened up a little more yesterday as he referred to a potential penalty incident involving Danny Welbeck and foul on Moises Caicedo which earned Scott McTominay a yellow card rather than a red.

He said: “It’s not easy to go to Old Trafford. You need the little margins to go your way and I didn’t think we got those either, to be honest.

“I was asked afterwards about the penalty, which I thought was definitely a penalty.

“I don’t like to speak about referees directly after the game.

“But I think they could possibly have gone down to ten men.

“These things you need and we didn’t get.

“But we still managed to get the result and we still managed to perform well, keep our heads, if you like, and focus on what we needed to do.”
