This is how Albion's players rated in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle.

As a team, they got better as the game wore on and looked stronger than their visitors in the energy-sapping conditions.

ROBERT SANCHEZ 7/10

Was not tested as much as night have been expected but did what was needed reliably enough.

JOEL VELTMAN 8/10

Prevented the unthinkable with his superb clearance in front goal in the second half. Very dependable and measured defensively and on the ball - and almost saw a second-half effort creep in when he had no option but to shoot.

LEWIS DUNK 8/10

Had to be alert to the pace and movement of Wilson and came through that test with a clean sheet.

ADAM WEBSTER 7/10

Generally good with his defending and use of the ball. He got away with one obvious first-half misjudgement.

SOLLY MARCH 8/10

So unfortunate not to be the matchwinner, which underlines the positions he was getting into from wing-back. Enjoyed his tussle with Burn and appeared to unsettle Joelinton.

ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER 7/10

Another really industrious performance and became more of an influence in the second half. Passes the ball well and gets the team moving but shooting still needs improving.

MOISES CAICEDO 7/10

Won the ball brilliantly at times, did not use it so well on occasions. Covers ground deceptively quickly and is at the heart of a lot.

LEANDRO TROSSARD 6/10

Shot at the keeper from a tight angle and offered threat which did not lead to anything really significant. Can attract defenders but this was not his most productive day.

PASCAL GROSS 6/10

Ran tirelessly and was involved in a lot for an Albion side who were creative in the second half. But he will rue the big late chance that got away and might also have shot when he tried to tee up Welbeck.

ADAM LALLANA 7/10

Denied twice by Pope but might feel in particular the headed chance might have been buried. Really lively in an attacking midfield role.

DANNY WELBECK 7/10

The focal point of attack again and helped bring others into play.

SUBS - ENOCK MWEPU 7/10

Popped up on either side in attacking areas, used the ball well and got into some dangerous positions.

TARIQ LAMPTEY N/A

Sent on wide on the right and was a decent outlet without really producing the danger that might have been expected.

KAORU MITOMA N/A

A sensation down the left with direct wing play and some astute passing. His work should have led to at least one goal.
