Albion boss Dean Wilkins is hoping for another rush of goals from late point-saver Nicky Forster in the push for a play-off place.

Forster rescued the Seagulls with a 90th-minute penalty, awarded against Adam Chambers for handball, after Jabo Ibehre headed Orient into an 80th-minue lead.

Albion's captain scored 12 goals by mid-December but his spot-kick ended a 13-match famine.

Wilkins said: "Hopefully that will kick-start him now. I think it has played on his mind but his contribution generally has been good.

"He has been creating opportunities for others as well. Even though it was a penalty, it is good to get him back on the scoresheet."

Albion should have been in command by half-time. They wasted several chances, with Forster's previously prolific strike partner Glenn Murray the main culprit.

Wilkins said: "I am relieved in the end, because we did not have long to get the equaliser but I am really frustrated because we should have been coming in three up.

"The chances we created were real clear-cut opportunities. On some occasions, we even failed to get a shot away, which is criminal really.

"If we have got aspirations to really get in among those play-off places then we really need to take advantage of those opportunities.

"In the second half, you could almost sense things going against us. I was concerned and not really surprised when they scored but we have to take credit for bouncing back.

"The players dug in and kept going and we have got a point from it."

Orient chief Martin Ling had no complaints about the penalty or the result. He said: "They edged the first half and we edged the second half so, even though it was a cruel late goal, it was probably a fair result."

Are the play-offs beyond Albion now?
