Michel Kuipers is relishing the pressure of another promotion challenge with Albion.

The long-serving Dutch goalkeeper is fired up for the latest test of the Seagulls' play-off credentials against second-placed Doncaster Rovers at Withdean.

Victory over Rovers and at Huddersfield on Tuesday would almost certainly lift Albion, currently 11th, into a top six spot.

A hectic March ends with tough trips to Nottingham Forest and Leeds but Albion approach the next phase of matches boosted by Tuesday's 2-1 win at Walsall, which followed defeat at Carlisle last Saturday and three wins and two draws in five successive home games.

Kuipers, promoted three times with Albion, said: "I love these games. The more pressure, the bigger the crowds and the more there is at stake the more I like it.

"We've had a very good start to this latest spell, considering we picked up a lot of points from our home games recently.

"This is a different dimension. So far we have been coping well with it. I think if we can get two good results against Doncaster and Huddersfield then we will be in a really good position.

"We set our standard on Tuesday night and, if we can keep to that standard, I think we will definitely push ourselves into a play-off position. Then, as soon as we are there, it is just a case of staying up there."

Albion have worked their way back into contention after rebuilding the team which drew 0-0 at Doncaster in December.

Dean Hammond, George O'Callaghan, Alex Revell, Bas Savage and Nathan Elder have all departed since the stalemate at the Keepmoat Stadium and five newcomers have made varying contributions to a reviving run of four wins in the last six outings.

Kuipers said: "Steve Thomson and Glenn Murray have settled in really well and Westy (Ian Westlake) has come in and done brilliantly. He set up the second goal at Walsall, so everybody is moulding together.

"Jonny Dixon and Shane McFaul are working really hard on the training ground to try and get into the team."
