Roberto De Zerbi is calling the shots on the training pitch.

The Italian head coach’s work permit came through late last week, along with those of his colleagues joining the staff.

De Zerbi was out on the grass at Lancing today to take training as Albion prepare to visit Liverpool.

Assistant Andrea Maldera and conditioning coach Marcattilio Marcattilii were also present along with Andrew Crofts, who has joined the first-team set-up.

Adam Lallana was among the players taking part, having missed recent matches due to injury.

Several senior squad members are away on international duty.

They include Alexis Mac Allister, whose match with Argentina does not kick-off until 1am on Wednesday our time as they face Jamaica in New Jersey.

Younger players were involved in the session, including Jack Spong, James Furlong, Antef Tsoungui, Andrew Moran and Cameron Peupion.
