Roberto De Zerbi says there is more to come from Leandro Trossard after his hat-trick at Anfield.
The Belgium international fired Albion into a 2-0 lead against Liverpool.
He then appeared at the far post to secure a 3-3 draw after the hosts had come back to lead.
He left the pitch with the matchball as De Zerbi’s tenure as head coach opened in sensational style.
The Italian said: “Trossard is a star, a very good player.
“When he was away with the national team, I sent him a message that he has to increase the number of goals.
“I hope he didn’t finish scoring today.
“He had a great game. He scored two fantastic goals, the first two.
“He score one very good goal because he was present at the far post.
“But I believe he can do even better.
“When I say that, it’s not because I am not happy with him today.
“But it’s because I consider him a great, great player.”
Asked for his emotions after the draw, De Zerbi said he was “tired”.
He added: “I am happy with this game. We played a very good match, we could have scored more but we play at Anfield.
“It’s my first game in the Premier League but I know Anfield, I know how difficult it is in this stadium.”
