Leandro Trossard ended a 42-year wait for an Albion hat-trick in the top flight.
His treble is the club’s first among the elite since Gordon Smith hit three at Coventry City in 1980.
Smith’s treble also came in a 3-3 draw – after Albion had trailed 3-0.
The only other top-tier hat-trick by an Albion player was scored by Peter Ward at Wolves in 1979.
Trossard is the first away player to score a Prem treble since his Belgium colleague Kevin De Bruyne hit four at Wolves last season.
The last away player to earn a matchball at Anfield was Andrei Arshavin for Arsenal in a 4-4 draw in 2009.
Peter Ndlovu scored three for Coventry City way back in 1995 as his team won 3-2.
