ALBION fans were jubilant after Leandro Trossard scored a hat-trick in a 3-3 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Belgian gave new manager Roberto De Zerbi a dream debut by scoring twice inside the first 17 minutes against ragged defending.

Roberto Firmino's double either side of half-time and an own goal by Adam Webster looked set to cause heartache for the Seagulls.

However, Trossard was not to be denied a moment in the spotlight and became only the third opposition player to score a hat-trick at Anfield in the Premier League.

He also ended a 42-year wait for an Albion hat-trick in the top flight.

Speaking after the match, De Zerbi said he was "very proud" of the result at Anfield.

He said: "We played a very good game. We had the possibility to score more. I know it is my first game in the Premier League but I know Anfield, I know the difficulties in this stadium."

The draw with Liverpool keeps Albion in fourth place in the Premier League, behind only Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham. Liverpool currently sit in ninth.

Forecasters FiveThirtyEight currently give the Seagulls a 27 per cent of making the Championship, with a one per cent chance of winning the Premier League this season.
