Roberto De Zerbi wants to get more from Kaoru Mitoma.
And that could mean more left-sided link-ups with Solly March.
The Albion boss was asked about his Japan wideman after the 1-0 defeat by Tottenham.
Mitoma added some penetration to the left side, as was the case in the second half of the 3-3 draw at Liverpool.
De Zerbi has been suitably impressed – and also, in passing, might have hinted at more of a role for Adam Lallana.
The head coach said: “Mitoma is a very good player.
“Maybe Mitoma and Lallana changed the game in Liverpool and today the same.
“I want to find the way to put on the pitch all players who have more quality.
“But it is possible to play only 11. Great guy, great player.”
Asked what Mitoma needed to do to break into that XI, De Zerbi said: “In the future we can change positions, we can change not style but positions on the pitch.
“It is difficult to find the best solution because Trossard is another very good food player, Gross the same, March the same.
“Mitoma in Liverpool and today played as a left winger and March as full-back. Maybe this one can be the solution.
“I don’t know at the moment.”
