Plumpton Racecourse will reward local community heroes with a VIP raceday package as part of their new initiative: Plumpton’s Local Legends.

The East Sussex racecourse are accepting nominations for Plumpton’s Local Legends, which aims to recognise unsung community heroes with a fantastic raceday experience consisting of a table for four in the à la carte Paddock Restaurant, a money-can’t-buy trip to the parade ring to see incredible thoroughbred racehorses up close, and a mention in that day’s racecard.

Plumpton are keen to hear about anyone in the local community who give up their time to help others and make a positive contribution to society, whether that be a colleague, volunteer, community warrior or anyone else who deserves recognition for what they do.

Dan Thompson, Chief Executive of Plumpton Racecourse, said: “As a team we know that we rely on many people throughout the year to make our racedays and indeed the racecourse tick, and whilst a ‘thank-you’, outward recognition, personal satisfaction or even a financial reward are all great and really valued means of praise, we wanted to see what we could do to expand on that within our community.

“All we need from people to nominate is a recent photo, some details of the nominated person we can contact them on and a description of what they do so well to deserve the nomination. With the added bonus of a trip to the parade ring to go alongside a three-course meal in the Paddock Restaurant, it should be a cracking day.”
