Albion are hoping for a change of fortune – including good news about Kaoru Mitoma.
The Japan winger left the Gtech Community Stadium on crutches after the 2-0 defeat by Brentford on Friday.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi is expected to update on Mitoma’s condition today.
It is understood Albion may well have been acting cautiously with the player as he left the stadium.
He did not stop for his customary post-match interviews with the Japanese reporters who are following his progress closely.
However, he had remained on the pitch after taking the blow to the ankle – and walked across to applaud fans after the game.
A quick turnaround could count against him facing Nottingham Forest at the Amex tomorrow (7.30pm).
De Zerbi spent the weekend pondering his gameplan against Forest after recognising his side did not make the most of the 21 goal attempts and 72% share of possession they enjoyed in west London.
He told The Argus: “I am positive. I am still confident about the potential of our team. We have played three very good matches. I want to think about getting better.
“No doubt three matches of the quality we have produced deserved more than one point but football is like that.
“I consider myself to be a fortunate person – but in the last three games, not so lucky!”
