Brighton & Hove Albion have been handed a tricky trip to Middlesbrough in the third round of the FA Cup.

The draw took place live on the BBC, with Roberto De Zerbi's men paired with the mid-table Championship side.

Boro took 10 points from five games before the World Cup break under new head coach Michael Carrick, who replaced interim boss Leo Percovich after the sacking of Chris Wilder.

And they return to action with a home game against Luton Town on December 10, while Albion wait until Boxing Day to restart their Premier League campaign at Southampton.

Former Albion boss Graham Potter takes his Chelsea side to Manchester City in arguably the tie of the round.

And the 32 third-round ties will be played over the weekend of January 6-9, with winners picking up £105,000 in prize money.
