A barber who cuts the hair of Albion stars such as Leandro Trossard, Adam Lallana and former captain Bruno has gone international.

Rebin Rob, owner of Meds Barbers in Western Road, Hove has flown out to the World Cup in Qatar to ensure players are looking their best.

He was asked to go out after gaining an impressive reputation among Brighton players, which put his name into the international sphere.

Rob told The Argus he felt “proud” to have the privilege of cutting footballers' hair and it had been a dream to watch the World Cup.

He said: "I always wanted to watch the World Cup so being able to work while watching is a great position to be in and it's been a chance to talk to some great players.”

There are several barbers there and each is assigned teams. Rob is responsible for both the Welsh and Iranian teams.

While he will not be cutting any England players' hair he said he will be supporting the "England boys".

Ahead of this evening's England vs Wales match Rob said the England team were very strong but the Welsh team were in very high spirits and set to “give the match their everything."

Rob said the atmosphere in Qatar was good, adding: "There are so many nationalities and there is no fighting between supporters, instead lots of singing fans."

He said the stadiums' industrial-sized air conditioning units were welcome as the temperature in the Gulf state is "that of an English summer".

Rob took over the Hove barbers and rebranded it Meds in 2015.

He will be staying out in Qatar for the whole tournament but is looking forward to coming home afterwards and "catching up with most of the Brighton players".
